Transformation in the Woods

About
Spinal Flow
A Gentle Space to Begin Again
The body has a remarkable way of protecting us through difficult seasons of life. Over time, however, stress, grief, emotional strain, physical tension, and long periods of overwhelm can become deeply held within the body itself. Many people grow so accustomed to carrying this weight that they forget what ease is supposed to feel like.
Spinal Flow offers a quiet and supportive space for the nervous system to soften. It is a gentle, touch-based modality created by Dr. Carli Axford that focuses on restoring connection within the body through the spine and nervous system. Rather than forcing change, the work encourages the body to settle naturally into a state where healing and regulation can begin to unfold.
When the Body Has Been Carrying Too Much
The nervous system is constantly responding to life experiences, both past and present. Emotional trauma, caregiving, illness, physical injury, chronic stress, and even years of emotional suppression can leave the body feeling guarded, exhausted, or disconnected.
Sometimes this appears physically through pain, fatigue, tension, digestive issues, headaches, or sleep disturbances. Other times it can feel more emotional — anxiety, burnout, emotional heaviness, or a persistent feeling of being on edge.
Spinal Flow recognizes that the body often speaks long before words do. Symptoms are not viewed as failures, but as signs that the body may be asking for support, rest, and reconnection.
Supporting the Nervous System
At the center of this work is the understanding that the nervous system influences nearly every aspect of our well-being. When the body feels safe, supported, and regulated, it becomes easier to rest, process emotions, and restore balance naturally.
Sessions involve gentle contact along specific areas connected to the spine and nervous system. The touch is light, calming, and non-forceful. Many clients experience a sense of deep relaxation during sessions, while others notice emotional release, warmth throughout the body, easier breathing, or a feeling of quiet calm returning.
Each experience is unique because every body carries its own story.
Healing Happens in Layers
Healing is rarely something that needs to be rushed. Often, the body releases tension gradually, layer by layer, as trust and safety are rebuilt within the nervous system.
For some, Spinal Flow becomes support during periods of chronic stress or physical discomfort. For others, it becomes part of an ongoing wellness practice — a way to stay connected, grounded, and cared for in the midst of life’s demands.
Wherever you may be in your journey, sessions are approached with gentleness, patience, and deep respect for your body’s timing.
An Invitation Back to Yourself
There are moments when the body quietly signals it has had enough of holding everything alone.
Spinal Flow is an invitation to reconnect with yourself, restore balance within the nervous system, and create space for greater ease, calm, and well-being. Over time, many people notice a quieter mind, a softer body, and a steadier sense of being in themselves again. It becomes less about managing symptoms and more about returning to a natural state of balance, where the body feels supported, regulated, and at peace.
